Sunscreen formulation, safety is of high importance because of the diminishing ozone layer. Solid lipid nanoparticles are introduced as the new generation of carrier for cosmetics, especially for UV blockers. The efficiency of a cosmetic product depends not only on the active ingredients but also on the carrier systems involved, with the aim to improve its bioavailability, photoprotection and photostability. Thus the emergence of SLN has recently used in preparation of sunscreen and as an active carrier for organic and inorganic sunscreen agents to optimize UV protection and it acts as an active carrier for sunscreens since they represent physical sunscreen on their own. Thus the incorporation of molecular sunscreen into SLN has a synergistic photoprotection effect. The improving blocking activity allows reduction of concentration of UV blocker. While the benefits of regular use of sunscreen are undisputed, some adverse effects of these organic UV blockers have been reported due to penetration into particulate drug delivery system each as solid lipid nanoparticle while maintaining the protective level of conventional formulation.

A simple, selective, precise and Stability-indicating High-performance thin-layer chromatographic method for analysis of Pramipexole dihydrochloride both in a bulk and in pharmaceutical formulation has been developed and validated. The method employed, HPTLC aluminium plates precoated with silica gel as the stationary phase. The solvent system consisted of n-hexane: ethanol: ammonia (3.5: 6: 0.5 v/v). The system was found to give compact spot for Pramipexole dihydrochloride (Rf value of 0.43±0.02). Densitometric analysis of Pramipexole dihydrochloride was carried out in the absorbance mode at 261 nm. The linear regression analysis data for the calibration plots showed good linear relationship with r2 = 0.999±0.0001 with respect to peak area in the concentration range 100 - 600 ng per spot. The method was validated for precision, recovery and robustness. The limits of detection and quantification were 3.57 and 10.82 ng per spot, respectively. Pramipexole dihydrochloride was subjected to acid and alkali hydrolysis, oxidation and thermal degradation. The drug undergoes degradation under acidic, basic, oxidation and thermal conditions. This indicates that the drug is susceptible to acid, base, oxidation and thermal conditions. The degraded product was well resolved from the pure drug with significantly different Rf value. Statistical analysis proves that the method is repeatable, selective and accurate for the estimation of investigated drug. The proposed developed HPTLC method can be applied for identification and quantitative determination of Pramipexole dihydrochloride in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulation.

Boerhaavia chinensis (L.) Aschers. is a spreading perennial herb of Nyctaginaceae family. Plant stems are thick and branches are spread on the ground. Leaf stalks are velvety and 1-3 cm long in length . The flowers are tiny, pink, funnelshaped, 6-8 mm. The plant is found abundantly in the Khandesh region of Maharashtra, India. The plant has great status as a folk medicine and is being used by various tribes/communities like, Pawara, Kokani, Bhils, Mavach, and Vasave etc. Tribes are using various parts of plants as an anti-inflammatory, diuretic, expectorant, anticonvulsant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antifibrinolytic, also in the treatment of Jaundice and as nutritional supplements. The plant has not been studied for its pharmacognostical and phytochemical evaluation. In the present study, pharmacognostical and phytochemical evaluations were carried out on roots of Boerhaavia chinensis. Pharmacognostical and phytochemical outcomes confirmed the presence of inorganic elements and importantly active phytochemicals beside this, other components are also present within limits. This plant can be used rationally in the treatment of jaundice and other diseases. It can also get place in modern medicine for treatment of various diseases.
